Upcoming Taos Area Activities at TCA

Talking with Guests this week I'm told the fall color show is high on the list of awesome Taos area activities. The high mountian colors are declining, mid mountian are just past the peak, and valley leaves are nearing their peak. The scattered aspens amongst the evergreens offer some dramatic pictures to take home.

TCA is a busy place. Their recently new lobby offers visitors a warm welcome and great place to mingle and meet folks. The Lula Washington Dance Theater will make a 1 show appearance at Taos Community Auditorium next Wednesday, October 21 at 8 PM. You can view the TCA website or call for ticket purchase here: (575) 758-2052 http://www.tcataos.org/.

The SOMOS Taos Storytelling Festival starts Friday, October 16, also at the TCA. We've had a couple Guests who are part of the festival staying with us this week. They've told me that they are excited about the upcoming festival and they're really enjoying the Taos area. Visit them at http://www.somos.org/.

TCA does movies for much of the year. Their fall season is about to commence. The September Issue is the feature this month with shows Sunday, October 18 at 2:00 PM and again Monday & Tuesday at 7:30 PM. Thanks for supporting this community facility. Hope you enjoy their many creative endeavors.

Also talked to the folks at the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial State Park this week. Although that building is undergoing major remodeling and improvements, they do want to invite visitors to the memorial. Displays are a bit smaller with the project but the chapel, gift shop, lobby, and exterior displays are still welcoming folks. Had a retired Air Force family with us Tuesday night and they hadn't heard of this first in USA Vietnam Memorial. Off they went!

One added idea for your Taos visit is the attend a cooking school. Taos Cooking School offers classes most days year round and will do private classes on request. Check out their class schedule, you might want to plan your trip around learning more about our fiesty new mexico cusine. http://www.taosschoolofcooking.com/ or 575-770-5226.

Hoping to entice you into staying for an extra day or so, don't forget only Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza offers our popular Pay 3 nights, the 4th is FREE package. From our already reasonable rates, that 25% discount makes us THE place to headqaurter while you explore North central NM. www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn or call 800-444-2346.
