Wow! Wool Festival weekend has been a busy time for Taos, the Wool Festival folks, and Indian Hills Inn. In this down economy, our Guest family managed to keep us full both nights. Thanks for your confidence in our team of "tour guides".
Let's start planning upcoming weekend travel ideas. SOMOS, Society of the Muse of the Southwest, supports and nurtures the literary arts, in both written and oral traditionm honoring the cultural diversity of the Southwest. Part of their endeavors is the Storytelling Festival held every October, this year Friday the 16th and Saturday the 17th.
They have planned and booked an amazing list of storytellers from kids to experienced elders. The show occurs at the Taos center for the Arts, just 4 blocks North of Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza. More details are available at SOMOS website: http://www.somostaos.org/ .
SOMOS has been one of our tenants at the shops at Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza for several years. We've supported them by a significant reduction in their rent cost and by donated rooms for their performers and visitors when needed. I encourage you to consider making a generous donation of money or books for their fund raising efforts.
One of their fund raising projects is the Book Store. Open most days around mid day they offer a wide variety of titles in numerous categories and all for low cost. SOMOS Book Store is located just North of Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza lobby at 233 B Paseo del Pueblo Sur, Taos. Donated books in non saleable condition are available for free on the front porch.
Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza is always the affordable choice in downtown lodging hotels. We invite you to enjoy at least a session or two of this years storytelling program at SOMOS. Singles start at a low of $69 per night and includes complimentary continental breakfst and WIFI. Check us out at www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn or call 800-444-2346.
