From this older and far removed base guitarist, this film at TCA looks much like something most musicians should plan to see. Guess you better quickly plan a visit to Taos!
"It Might Get Loud" plays Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday at TCA. Featuring musicians: Led Zepplin's Jimmy Page, U2's the Edge and the White Stripes' Jack White. The cameras follow each of them home, let them talk shop and then put them onstage together in Los Angeles for an electrifying jam session. Sounds like a rare look into music history. Available in Taos starting Sunday!
Taos Community Auditorium offers many varied theatrical, musical, film, and dance groups throughout the year. With an expansive recently added lobby, visitors enjoy art displays by varied local artists before, during any intermissions, and after the shows. Check out their website at: tca@tcataos.org.
Since many old guitar players are vets, Indian Hills Inn is about to go public with what might be the deal of the year. We're going to celebrate Veterans Day for most of November. We're going to do so with the lowest cheap lodging rates you've seen in a longgggg time! Stay tuned. We will make it worth your while to stay an extra day or two!

Hello Snow! Taos Mountains Blanketed!
Woke up today with snow falling. Courtyard at hotel grass covered with maybe an inch of white stuff. Kind of gets the blood flowing for the skier in us.
Guess that means that it's time (if you haven't already started your conditioning regimine) to get on the bike for a few minutes daily, push the weight bench out from under that stack of boxes and use it for it's intended purpose, train on that skiers edge for a few minutes every day. IF (big word) you do that, you WILL enjoy your ski or riding days more than if you don't. It's that simple!
Guess you can also visit Taos between now and ski / ride snow season start and make a few hikes along the Rio Grande Gorge to enhnace your aclimation to our 9,000 foot plus ski terrain. Probably late for mountian trail hikes but doing anything rigorous at 7 to 8000 feet will help build your endurance. So many of our winter ski visitors arrive with little or no physical preparation that I simply want to encourage highly that you invest that time now to vastly imporve the fun quotient then.
Traditional Taos Ski Valley openning is Wednesday before Thanksgiving Pray for snow to make that happen. I don't know the exact percentages but they hit that about 75% of the time. Check out their website for the Taos Card. It's a great deal and eases the ski day.
Sipapu usually opens as soon as they have adequate snow, sometimes as much as a few weeks earlier. Their lift tickets are always the best value anywhere in the West PLUS we usually have discount coupons or packages at Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza.
Angel Fire's scheduled openning is mid December. Snow conditions always set the final open date at all the areas.
Keep your eye on the ski shop fall sales in your area. The more recent equipment is really amazing at what it can do for your skiing. If you're skiing on 10 year old skis, I seriously recommend either buying a sale package or renting when you get here. Boots are more warm and comfy, skis are awesome, etc. Begin to make those decisions a earlier rather than the day before you depart. Most of us make better decsions with a bit of extra time instead of rush rush rush.
It's kind of exciting the talk about skiing. Hope your first run this year is as good and fun as your last run last season. Ski safely. Read the resonsibility code. Costco has great deals on helmets.
NO ONE SELLS ROOMS FOR A BETTER VALUE! Conveniently located in downtown Taos, your after ski choices are much wider than anywhere else on the Enchanted Circle or nearby : environs. Email me any questions or special needs: indianhills@newmex.com. Remember our Pay 3, the 4th is FREE package, good most dates other than Christmas and holiday. www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn then call direct for best values 800-444-2346 (please don't complain when you book elsewhere and find out you could have done better direct - :-( ).

Taos & Enchanted Circle Score in National Geographic Traveller
In the 6th "Places Rates" evaluation compiled by National Geographic Traveller, the Taos and Enchanted Circle areas are ranked 41st out of 133 WORLDWIDE!!!!! That is an incredible honor for the Taos area.
Please note, this evaluation is NOT a popularity contest. Instead, it is a review of the authenticity and stewardship, an assessment of the qualities that make the place unique. Most folks who live and work in the Taos area have known that the area is a real, honest to goodness, authentic place where you meet the history, culture, and communities that make us who we are.
Here's a link to the article: http://traveler.nationalgeographic.com/2009/11/destinations-rated/list-text/2. That's partially why we advertise, if you miss the way Santa Fe was 30 years ago, try Taos, we still have that unique atmosphere, it's still personalable, we're down to earth.
I think I'm impressed with over 400 world travel experts ranking Taos and the Enchanted Circle so favorably. That is something we need to brag about! Tell your family and friends. Thanks.
I hope that we at Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza provide that friendly, comofrtable, real world hotel experience that is often missing on today's travels. We are not the fanciest hotel in Taos but we are one of the friendliest, service oriented Inns. We are exceptionally well located just 2 blocks South of historic Taos Plaza. You can walk almost anywhere in the downtown historic district. Quality of Guest service is far above average. We're your "tour guide" for the Taos area. The end result is we are an authentic, independent, lodging provider who cares about you, our Guest.
Check us out: www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn then call us at 800-444-2346. How can we help? May we earn the right to your confidence and business?

Official NM Trivia
Do you know the official flower of NM? How about another name for the state bird (beep, beep)? Do you know how they spell our state tree in Colorado (very odd)? What fish is honored as our state fish (it's not the alcoholic)? Which four legged creature is our official animal? What vegetables are offical veggies of NM, two of them? Is there an offical state gem? Other than cannabis, what's the state grass? On March 17, 1981 the state adopted the offical fossil (rock, not clothing) named? If the cookie monstor was from NM, what would he offically eat? If Nm has an offical insect, can you name that bug? Anyone care to guess at the offical state question?
Those questions are developed from an article in the Kit Carson Coop (and other NM coops) monthly newspaper, Enchantment. For those who aren't familiar with the term coop, that is the rural electric coop. It's a user owned electric supplier. They have been very instrumental in developiong the rural portions of the USA. They were one of the few good ideas of our federal government. Now what are we going to do with them?
For everyone who emails indianhills@newmex.com correct answers to every question, first, we'll give you an extreme discount special rate of $39 during the off season, $49 during the shoulder season, and $59 during busy season. That rate will be good for 1 or 2 Guests. Added Guests in same room at $5 for each added Guest. That rate is good for only 1 night during weekends, as many nights as we can keep you Sudany thru Thursdays. That special rate is not available during holiday periods: Thanksgiving, Christmas-New Years, MLK weekend, Pesidents weekend, spring break, Memorial weekend, July 4th, Fiesta weekend, or Labor Day weekend. The winner discount special offer ends August 31, 2010. We'll craft and send a return email to those who get the answers correct with the details of the specail rate offer. Added nights will be available at the then current rate. Good luck and good research. I'll keep this contest open for a few weeks. All answers must be in my hands by November 15, 2009. I'll then post the answers.
You'll be enjoying the hospitality at Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza when you stay as a winner or visitor. Visit our web site soon for further information on Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza: www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn. Call 800-444-2346 to reserve your room. Remember, we will always match any legitimate rate you find online or elsewhere. Thanks for a good October!

Best Booking Plan for YOU!
Just did a google check on "Indian Hills Inn, Taos". Way over 20,000 sites returned with our name. I admit I am an internet junky and a forum junky but I have NOT posted our name in 20,000+ places. Boy, I wish I had 20,000 sites pointing to our site, not everyone elses!
What that means to you is that when you look for any hotel in any town, drill down throught the many paid listings and 3rd party listings until you find the properties direct website. That means it will take extra effort on your behalf. Although the net does provide many benefits to some of our needs, it is totally confusing and much harder than some means of research form the past.
Your reward for that added work will be the most accurate information from someone who really knows the area you are visiting plus they know the property better than ABC online booking system, Xpta, sleep.com, TW, or any other 3rd party system. You might also be better able to negotiate with that human on the other end of the phone rather than your computer and some unkown faceless online travel agency doing lunch and costing both of us money.
It is almost always less costly for you to reserve your room direct with a property than using most online systems, including the hotel's website. Every step added between you and the hotel adds costs, potential errors, some communication challenges, and maybe more restrictive business practices.
If you'll research town activities before you travel, you'll have a better handle on how negotiable rates may be. For example, if you are visiting Taos during a peak weekend or holiday period, rates both online and direct will likely be higher than when you visit from now until ski season. That same idea applies to most areas.
Specifically, from one low cost (they claim that) online agency, your rate tonight for us would range from about $65 to $80. Our rates for walk ins is from $49 to $69. If you're lucky enough to have a coupon tonight, the rate will be $54.33. In other words, call us and every other stop you make direct. It will likely save both of us money.
Ready to book? 800-444-2346. Want to look us over? www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn. Thanks for listening and your business.

Taos Mountain Balloon Rally 2009
If you prefer smaller crowds (way smaller!!!), come to Taos. This year, the rally expects over 30 balloons to share the fund and vistas of what amounts to historic flight.
CAUTION! The correct and only official website is http://www.taosballoonrally.com/. Someone has hijacked the correct name. WARNING, and you may contact viruses or other unfortunate situations or circumstances from that other site.
You want to plan on spending a long weekend as the rally starts Friday morning with a mini assension at 7:15 AM for invited pilots. A dawn patrol launches earlier around 6 AM. Those actions will be followed by tethered balloon rides at Salazar Field and select locations in the Taos area starting around 8:30 AM. From 4 to 10 PM, there is a no host reception at the Sagebrush Convention Center behind the Comfort Suites about 2 miles South of Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza.
Saturday, the dawn patrol flies around 6 AM followed by a mass assension from 7:15 to 8 AM. Saturday, a parade will occur downtown at 1 PM. What some folks love the most is at dusk, weather permitting, is the balloomenshine or balloon glow.
Sunday repesats Saturday mornings activities with the dawn patrol and mass assension. You are all invited to visit pilots and crews during the festivities. It also gets you out to see the colors which are already fading but still great to look at. The colors around Pilar are really good this week. Stop and enjoy on your way to or back from Taos (if you're driving up from the South).
With our very affordable specials, Indian Hills Inn, Taos plaza invites you to spend 4 nights with us this week (or most any other). Pay 3 nights, the 4th is FREE. Plus we are offering great rates from $49 (a few rooms) to $69 for 1 or 2 Guests. As our normal reminder, those rates are ONLY available direct. You can't get those values anywhere online. www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn or 800-444-2346.
It's not too soon to book your Thanksgiving weekend ski/shop trip to Taos! Thanks for reading. Let us know what you think, post a comment!

Muchas Gracias to All Our Associates!
We want to publicly thank our team at Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza. First, a little over a year ago, we had huge staffing issues and related Guest service problems. Although we still make mistakes, Guests are now bragging to us regularly about how well the employees / team / associates are doing. We've had letters sent, emails sent, and even phone calls letting us know that so and so is doing a bang up job.
You are telling us how friendly the front desk team is. How appreciative you are for the guidance and directions to thhings to do, places to see, dining ideas, etc. How we've been helpful in time of need. I've seen posts elsewhere even mentioning ad thanking our team by name.
You are mentioning the housekeeping and maintenance people too. Helpful, clean rooms, sharp landscaping and grounds.
Perhaps the most accurate measures of service level is from three areas. Guests who add a day, two, or more to their visit is far higher than earlier. The number of Guests who are returning after an earlier stay is higher. Some from a month or two back, some from earlier this year, and some from late last year. And the number of referrals from past Guets is much higher than we've seen in some time.
So, again, thanks to each Guest who've sent your positive comments and THANKS to each team member for your interest and dedication to meeting our Guest's needs and delivering a positive experience for their visit to Taos. It is rewarding to see that the goal of a team culture of Guest service is being reached.
We're heading for the shoulder season in Taos. That means you'll find our best values of the year. Call us direct for specials that are NOT available anywhere online. 800-444-2346 or visit our website for more information www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn.

10/16 to 10/18 Another Busy Taos Weekend
I've talked before about the Taos Storytelling Festival. The fest inlcudes a workshop with nationally known storyteller Carmen Agra Deedy on Saturday. Another nationally recognized featured storyteller is Willy Claflin. CDs of some of the national and local storytellers are also available. Check out SOMOS at http://www.somostaos.org/ for places, times, and details.
Welcome back could be the theme song for the return of Rancho de Chimayo. Closed since a major fire many months back, this is an almost legendary dining place for northern NM. On the way to or from Taos or on a one day drive around tour from Taos, Rancho Chimayo offers dining again Sunday October 18, 12009. They will be open Saturday, October 17, 2009, for an open house from noon to 4 PM. http://www.ranchochimayo.com/.
The Blumenschein House and Museum is celebrating the completion of their exterior upgrade with a show of 15 local Taos artists. The home is furnished with the Blumenschein's original belongings and displays some of the now nearly 100 year old art from the original Taos Society of Artists. Information at 575-758-0505 or www.taoshistoricmuseums.org/blumenschein.php.
Next Wednesday, October 21, 2009, TCA welcomes the Lula Washington Dance Theater to Taos. One show only at 8:00 PM. Call 575-758-2052 for tickets. More information at http://www.tcataos.org/.
Taos County Economic Development Corporation is a local non profit whose mission is to support the food, land, water, and clutures of the people of Northern NM. As a means of reaching for that goal, they have a community garden, greenhouse, small business services, and 5,000 square foot commercial kitchen. They are at 1021 Salazar Road, their website is http://www.tcedc.org/, and you can call 575-758-8731 for more information.
Eanger Irving Couse was also one of the founders of the Taos Society of Artists. The annual celebration of when those artists settled in Taos occurs this weekend. This year is the 100th anniversary of whn Couse bought his property. The event is a fund rasing that will generate more funds for transfering the property to the foundation to further and permanently preserve the hitoric dwelling. The Couse and Sharp properties will be open Saturday, October 17, 2009. http://www.cousefoundation.org/ or 575-751-0369 for information.
Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza thanks those who've been our Guests and invites you who haven't to try our convenient downtown hotel. We're just a couple blocks South of the Plaza, the museums, the Couse property. We'll try to accommodate you, make you comfortable, and be your "tour guide" for your Taos Experience. www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn or 800-444-2346. Although I think our rates are the best in Taos, if you find a lower rate on line, tell us where or bring us a copy and we'll usually be able to match it. Direct bookings are always most accurate, usually lower in cost, and easier to make, change, or cancel. Thanks again for your confidence. We know you have many lodging choices and appreciate your calling on us.

Upcoming Taos Area Activities at TCA
Talking with Guests this week I'm told the fall color show is high on the list of awesome Taos area activities. The high mountian colors are declining, mid mountian are just past the peak, and valley leaves are nearing their peak. The scattered aspens amongst the evergreens offer some dramatic pictures to take home.
TCA is a busy place. Their recently new lobby offers visitors a warm welcome and great place to mingle and meet folks. The Lula Washington Dance Theater will make a 1 show appearance at Taos Community Auditorium next Wednesday, October 21 at 8 PM. You can view the TCA website or call for ticket purchase here: (575) 758-2052 http://www.tcataos.org/.
The SOMOS Taos Storytelling Festival starts Friday, October 16, also at the TCA. We've had a couple Guests who are part of the festival staying with us this week. They've told me that they are excited about the upcoming festival and they're really enjoying the Taos area. Visit them at http://www.somos.org/.
TCA does movies for much of the year. Their fall season is about to commence. The September Issue is the feature this month with shows Sunday, October 18 at 2:00 PM and again Monday & Tuesday at 7:30 PM. Thanks for supporting this community facility. Hope you enjoy their many creative endeavors.
Also talked to the folks at the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial State Park this week. Although that building is undergoing major remodeling and improvements, they do want to invite visitors to the memorial. Displays are a bit smaller with the project but the chapel, gift shop, lobby, and exterior displays are still welcoming folks. Had a retired Air Force family with us Tuesday night and they hadn't heard of this first in USA Vietnam Memorial. Off they went!
One added idea for your Taos visit is the attend a cooking school. Taos Cooking School offers classes most days year round and will do private classes on request. Check out their class schedule, you might want to plan your trip around learning more about our fiesty new mexico cusine. http://www.taosschoolofcooking.com/ or 575-770-5226.
Hoping to entice you into staying for an extra day or so, don't forget only Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza offers our popular Pay 3 nights, the 4th is FREE package. From our already reasonable rates, that 25% discount makes us THE place to headqaurter while you explore North central NM. www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn or call 800-444-2346.

Solar Heated Pool Season Ends _ Alternative Ideas
It's that time of year again, fall. Brings us to the point at which we turn off the pool solar collectors, drain it about a foot, drain the lines, and cover to keep the leaves, dust, and debris out. Pool use had diminished to hasn't been used since mid September anyway, so must be time.
During our pool off season, it you find it necessary to splash around a bit, the town of Taos has a indoor pool that is open year round and can be used relatively inexpensively. Hours vary sometimes so here's a link to their website - http://www.taosyouth.com/. They also have indoor skating, winter ice hockey, and other youth recreation activities.
Taos also offers two fitness centers, both with indoor swimming pools. For a round $10-12 a day, visitors can enjoy varied exercise and the pools. Both are located about equal distance from Indian Hills Inn, just ask at the front desk for directions. South is Taos Spa at $12 day use - http://taosspa.com/. North of us is Northside at $8 day use - http://www.taosnorthsidespa.com/.

Taos, NM Fall Season Activities & Specials
It's that time of year when tourist traffic slows a bit. Means most places are less crowded, often means sales, deals, and specials at shops, sites, food places, and lodging.
Less busy makes fall a great time to really explore the intricacies of Taos numerous museums. Here are some details and links that you may find useful:
Taos Museums. www.taosmuseums.org . Formed to improve the educational abilities of 5 key Taos museums. Links to each individual facility. Super value - buy 1 ticket for $25, gain admission to all 5 museums. You can easily make this a several day experience and immrese yourself in the history and culture of Taos. Most of these museums are a short walk from Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza.
Blumenshein Home & Museum. Just a block up and a block West.
Taos Art Museum and Fechin House. About 4 blocks North on Paseo del Pueblo Norte.
La Hacienda de Los Martinez. About 10 minutes on lower Ranchitos road West of hotel.
Harwood Museum of Art. www.harwoodmuseum.org/ . One block up and another West.
Millicent Rogers Museum. www.millicentrogers.com/ . About 15 minutes North just off US 64.
Kit Carson Home & Museum. Two blocks North then a few feet East on Kit Carson.
Governor Bent Museum. Three blocks North, just West of Paseo del Pueblo Norte.
Couse Foundation. Another of the founding Taos artists, their land abuts the Easterly edge of Indian Hills Inn. The historic family home is just a couple blocks North of the hotel.
Taos Pueblo. www.taospueblo.com/ Not usually listed as a museum but certainly a cultural and historical site. Located about 2 miles North of Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza.
You will be amazed by the extensive variety of historical information, cultural explanations, and art displays at the above museums. Certainly, you'll leave Taos with more awareness than you arrived. Most folks truely enjoy those adventures. It's part of: Taos, Living Life at a Higher Level.
There are still more museums in the surrounding areas. All within a short drive of Taos. Make Taos your headquarters for exploring Northern NM.
Since I mentioned specials, guess I better deliver the goods. We have a limited number of rooms we discount to below coupon book rates during some parts of the year. We call them our value rooms. They are upstairs, a bit closer to the street, hence a little less convenient to parking, while very similar to the rest of the rooms. We'll discount them to $49 for single or doubles. That's the best value hotel in Taos. It's lower than our $54.33 coupon rate (only available with coupon). Our deluxe single king bed rooms are still the most comfortable and at $69 are the best upscale value in Taos. Come see us soon! 800-444-2346. www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn.

Comments, Followers, Etc.
We've had a number of positive comments made to our front desk team about this blog. If you find it useful or have something to add or suggest, log on and post. If you're part of a group who visits Taos, let them know about us - both website and blog. If you're an expert on making a website or blog a better marketing tool, please let me know. Most of us small business people can't begin to cope with the speed of change online. Thanks for reading and visiting both our online presence and Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza. I'll keep truing to post regularly although there may be some days when I don't have much to add.
It's not too soon to think about skiing. We're already booking numerous holiday visits. Taos Ski Valley usually opens Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Seldom, if ever, are there crowds that early. A great time to get your ski legs back in the swing of things. Check us out online at www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn or call 800-444-2346

Philmont Scout Ranch and Tyrannosaurus rex
On display at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History is a cast of the ONLY confirmed T rex track in the world. That king of the tyrant dinosaur lizards left minimal evidence of their life and some of that data is from Philmont, Elephant Butte, and the Farmington area.
The site of the actual track is a remote area of the Philmont. The scouts visiting the ranch have cordoned off the area and somewhat protected the track from both weather and unwanted visitors. The cast is in the atrium of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History. For more information on the museum visit their website - www.nmnaturalhistory.com.
Public access to Philmont is primarily via their museums which offer much to the usually surprised visitors. More than 800,000 scouts have experienced Philmont since 1939. That 70 year history has had positive impact on both scouts, their leaders, and the public. Find more information at http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/HighAdventure/Philmont.aspx.
Philmont does not provide lodging for the public. We invite you to make Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza your lodging and hotel headquarters while your explore and experience Northern NM. Philmont and Cimarron and Whitington Center can be combined intto a single day trip from Taos or done seperately depending upon your speed of each visit. We're offering fall rates as low as $49 for one or two Guests (you won't likely beat that in Taos) in our value rooms. We also offer our deluxe single king beds for $69. Those rates are for direct bookings only. 800-444-2346. Hotel website is www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn.

SOMOS 10th Annual Storytelling Festival
Wow! Wool Festival weekend has been a busy time for Taos, the Wool Festival folks, and Indian Hills Inn. In this down economy, our Guest family managed to keep us full both nights. Thanks for your confidence in our team of "tour guides".
Let's start planning upcoming weekend travel ideas. SOMOS, Society of the Muse of the Southwest, supports and nurtures the literary arts, in both written and oral traditionm honoring the cultural diversity of the Southwest. Part of their endeavors is the Storytelling Festival held every October, this year Friday the 16th and Saturday the 17th.
They have planned and booked an amazing list of storytellers from kids to experienced elders. The show occurs at the Taos center for the Arts, just 4 blocks North of Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza. More details are available at SOMOS website: http://www.somostaos.org/ .
SOMOS has been one of our tenants at the shops at Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza for several years. We've supported them by a significant reduction in their rent cost and by donated rooms for their performers and visitors when needed. I encourage you to consider making a generous donation of money or books for their fund raising efforts.
One of their fund raising projects is the Book Store. Open most days around mid day they offer a wide variety of titles in numerous categories and all for low cost. SOMOS Book Store is located just North of Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza lobby at 233 B Paseo del Pueblo Sur, Taos. Donated books in non saleable condition are available for free on the front porch.
Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza is always the affordable choice in downtown lodging hotels. We invite you to enjoy at least a session or two of this years storytelling program at SOMOS. Singles start at a low of $69 per night and includes complimentary continental breakfst and WIFI. Check us out at www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn or call 800-444-2346.

Short Videos About Taos Tourism Activities Wanted
Did you raft this year and video part of the trip? Did you do a Llahma trek and tape it? Or hike, or fish, or 4 wheel, or balloon, or???
Did you visit the Motorcycle rally in Red River, or Sipapu, or any Taos Summer of Love event, or any theatrical show, or a 4th of July display, or an arts & crafts festival, or music fest, or film, or??? Did you film / video any of the above?
Maybe you did a self guided drive tour of the Enchanted Circle, the high road to Taos, any of the area communities or events? Anyone have a video clip of that activity you'd like to share? Or any video of your visit to Indian Hills Inn?
If you already have it posted on u tube or elsewhere, send me the link. If it might be of interest to our readers / viewers, we'll list it and link to it. If you'll let us do so, we'll take your video and post it ourselves. We'd of course especially like those videos that mention Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza.
For us to list, link, or post, the video will have to be acceptable to us in terms of appropriateness, clarity, value and good taste (solely as determined by us. I'd suggest clips of 2 or 3 minutes maximum (unless the subject retains interest for longer. Depending upon the qulity and content, we might be interesting in trading at least a portion of our room rate for those exceptional clips.
We'll also look at stills. Just send us the link if you already have them stored somewhere.
If anyone has such material or wants to discuss, just email the Inn at indianhills@newmex.com. You may also call the Inn at 575-758-4293. Want to take a peak at the current hotel website? www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn . Want to book a room? 800-444-2346. Thanks for your help!

Why Add Sunday to Your Taos Visit?
Along with what might be all kinds of different reasons for different folks, Sunday will be a full moon night. That depends on the weather to a degree (it'll always be full somewhere). In Taos Ski Valley, they do a hike to Williams Lake starting at 7 PM of full moon nights.
This is a moderate 2.5 mile hike each way. It will be dark in portions of the walk so please bring a head lamp or flash light. All hikers please bring water, warm clothing, and adequate footwear. Remember, you're hiking at 9,000 foot plus, it's fall, it may well be COLD.
This walk is NOT on the Chamber list but it is happening. If you want to look at their site - http://www.taosskivalley.com/. You'll also find their number and other data. The colors in the valley are astounding. Plan to spend part of the day there too!
Pay 3, the 4th is FREE when you stay at Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza and book direct. That special is NOT available when you book online at any website. Hotel information at www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn or by calling toll free 800-444-2346. Thanks for your reservations, business, and referrals. We know you have many choices of lodging and appreciate your choosing us! Enjoy the hike!

Ski Avalanche Sale
Since a great number of our readers are winter snow sports enthusiasts, here's a somewhat odd post. Let's talk about an Albuquerque event, not a Taos specific activity.
Hello skiers. For those in the Albuquerque area, one of the best annual ski sales is this weekend. Sport Systems is doing their annual Avalanche Sale. Reps from many ski areas will be there, package deals (some of the best anywhere), tons of freebees, some shows, more.
Here's their website - http://nmsportsystems.com/ . Click thru to the Ski Avalanche button. Better yet, sale starts Friday at 9 AM. Be there for great deals. Tell Duane that John and Indian Hills Inn sent you.
The next big ski show will be SnowShow combined with Sandia Ski Patrol's used equipment sale later in the fall. We'll be there.
Don't forget, when you come to Northern NM to ski, were you going to stay? Right. Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza. We're equa-distant from Taos, Sipapu, Angel Fire. Plus all the stuff for evenings in Taos or for the non-skiers (perish the thought), close to all the downtown sights and shopping. www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn or 800-444-2346.
