Taos September 11/12/13, 2009 Activities

Another busy week in Taos! Generally speaking, the fall colors are beginning their annual color filled show. Who knows exactly which date they will be best but the metamorphous is beginning. Come experience the crescendo of colors over the next 3 or 4 weeks in Taos Ski Valley, around the Enchanted Circle, awesome from Cumbres & Toltec scenic RR.

There is one spot high over our courtyard in the foothills just South of the US 64 canyon entry that will become quite spectacular. Visible from as far south as the northerly edge of the horseshoe on NM 68 to North of the turnoff to Taos Ski Valley, it is a sight that always amazes me.

For the bicycle enthusiasts, The Enchanted Circle Century Tour. That's a 100 mile ride over 3 - 9,000 foot passes. Did I mention the need for stamina? http://redriver.org/events/view/84 Ask at our front desk for more moderate rides in the Taos vicinity.

In Taos Ski Valley, the highlight will be a nature experience on Sunday the 13th. http://taosskivalley.com/events_and_calendars/calendar_of_events/ for more details.

You'll also find music at the Michael Hearne Barn Dance. WOW! http://www.bigbarndance.com/
Galleries and shops around downtown and historic Taos Plaza are also offering numerous activities and specials throughout September. All easily accessed from Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza's convenient location. Call us for lodging availability toll free 800-444-2346 or visit our website www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn .

Weekdays or weekends, plan an extra day or two for the Taos area. We'll be your tour guide and keep you busy and having fun! We've had folks stay for a week or more and kept them wandering and experiencing all of North central NM. See you soon in Taos!
