Much travel to Taos starts in Albuquerque. Driving North on I-25 to Santa Fe is the most common direction to Taos. Watch your speed, especially during rush hours. The state announced today that they are out in force with their laser guns on over passes, airplanes in the sky, and unmarked vehicles. They are looking at speeders, aggressive drivers, signal free lane changes, etc..
The next segment of the drive to Taos is from Santa Fe to Espanola along US 285. Be very carefull all the time while on Pueblo land. The pueblo police make a living off unsuspecting travelers. Pojoque pueblo is very aggressive in speed control. If they don't take it away in the casino, they'll get you on the highway.
An inexpensive radar/laser detector is cheap insurance. I think I gave about $50 for mine and it has earned it's keep many times over. In any event drive safely!
Stop and see us at Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza. Lots going on in Taos thru October. Fall arts & crafts fair this weekend. Taos Wool Fest first weekend in October. Fall colors of the aspen trees is becoming more briliant every day. Forecast is for snow on the mountain tops this week. The cold temps will increase the color changes.
