For those of you who read this blog and need to find another donation place to help in 2009, may I suggest two local groups who do great things for the Taos community. First is Rocky Mountian Youth Corps. They've been a growing local organization for 14 years, have helped over 2,000 local youth, and like most such organizations, are always facing financial challenges.
My only personal experience with graduates has been only positive. I believe part of their program is to guide youth towards becoming competent adults. I've worked with a couple of their grads and am very impressed with the positive nature of those couple of youth! Hence, I ask you to seriously consider helping this group. The other group we offer for your support is Taos Habitat. We've made special rate rooms available to their volunteers for many years. We've hosted groups from across the country who've traveled to Taos to assist in building a home for a local in need of help. Taos Habitat has built 26 homes to date.
